This global information technology services and knowledge process outsourcing company with a focus on the healthcare and financial industries has been a hot performer in 2013. The forward multiple is discount to average and near the S&P 500 12 month forward PE ratio of 14.5. Additionally the PEG Ratio, price to earnings ratio to earnings growth rate, is 0.88 compared to a ten year average of 1.02. The market is cautious about pricing the company growth rate suggesting the bar is low for Syntel to impress investors. Toray Industries Inc.(3402.TO), the global market leader in carbon fiber, agreed to buy smaller rival Zoltek Cos.(ZOLT) in a deal valued at $584 million. The Japanese synthetic-fiber maker offered $16.75 a share, a 9.5% discount to Thurday’s close. Zoltek has struggled amid what it has called a cyclical downturn in the wind energy market. Zoltek shares dropped 10% to $16.58 in light premarket trading.

    3. Zoltek (NASDAQ: ZOLT  )
Zoltek was an interesting investment at the beginning of the year for futurist investors. The company is one of the largest manufacturers of carbon fiber in the world. In fact, its lightweight and high-strength carbon fiber is used almost exclusively in the largest wind turbine blades around the world and played a major role in America's 20-fold improvement in breezy energy capacity since 2000. This material of the future has many other uses and potential uses as well, but Zoltek has never really gained the confidence of the market in any big way: Its market cap was hovering near $300 million at the start of the year.

Advisors' Opinion:

By comparison, GlaxoSmithKline's (NYSE: GSK  ) fish oil Lovaza racked up $229 million in the U.S. in the first quarter. There's certainly potential for Amarin to get there, eventually, but it'll take a while. Quite a bit of Lovaza's sales come from off-label use in patients that only have moderately high triglyceride levels. Those patients could use Vascepa, but I suspect that doctors will want a little more experience using the drug before prescribing it off label.

    The real benefit
The trial tested non-diabetics, but the study highlights one of the benefits of using Victoza over other diabetes medications in obese and overweight patients. GlaxoSmithKline's (NYSE: GSK  ) Avandia and Takeda's Actos actually cause weight gain, and other diabetes drugs like the DDP-4 inhibitors don't help with weight loss.

Early this morning, Celgene (NASDAQ: CELG  ) announced that it was discontinuing the phase 3 ORIGIN Trial evaluating Revlimid (lenalidomide) in B-Cell chronic lymphomatic leukemia. The trial enrolled 450 elderly patients who had not undergone prior treatments and compared Revlimid against Leukeran (chlorambucil) from GlaxoSmithKline (NYSE: GSK  ) . Unfortunately, a higher number of patient deaths were observed in the Revlimid arm, which forced the Food and Drug Administration to place the trial on clinical hold last week and the eventual discontinuation today. What does it mean for patients? Is this a blow to investors? Let's review.
